With our guided mountain bike hut-tour in the Tyrolean Alps and Northern Dolomites, you’re in for an incredible riding adventure. We’ll leave the dusty, brake-bumped bikeparks behind and hit some serious Alpine singletrack. Our itinerary links challenging, endless trails with incredible mountain huts for a panoramic riding experience you simply won’t find anywhere else.

The Austrian Alps and Northern Dolomites are a cycling paradise. The terrain is undoubtedly as rugged as Ernest Hemingway described, but the infrastructure left behind by the bloody battles of World War I have made for astonishingly good enduro riding. We’ll rely on high-altitude trails built and used a century ago by Austrian and Italian soldiers a to surf along ridges connecting big summits, and enjoy fantastic accommodations in great mountain huts– all while enjoying breathtaking views of rugged dolomite spires. Looking for technical descents through some of the most engaging enduro terrain in the Alps? No problem– we’ll find you your flow.

Famous for their incredible hospitality, Austrian and Italian mountain huts will serve as our accommodations for the duration of the experience. With their hearty cuisine and tasty libations, these huts are a little-known slice of mountain bike heaven. By starting our rides high in the mountains, we’ll spend full days reveling in alpine scenery and enjoying mega descents that will have you yodeling for joy.

REQUIREMENTS

ABILITY

This is not a beginner mountain bike trip. We will be riding more technical natural trails that push your skills and allow you to advance your technique. The most difficult trails are a minimum of S2. Depending on the mountain bike skills of the camp participants, we could ride more difficult singletrack. Find information on the rating scale here

FITNESS

This hut tour is truly for those that enjoy challenging terrain, and don’t mind putting in some vertical distance to ride the finest. Occasionally, we’ll use chairlifts and gondolas as needed to maximize vertical, but riders should be fit enough for a 1000m climb, and should be prepared for a full (6 hr) day of riding challenging, epic singletrack. Questions? We love to chat! Call us right up

EQUIPMENT

Although hardtail bikes are adequate, a full suspension enduro style bike with at least 130mm of travel is ideal for this trip. Don’t worry, you will be spotted and assisted through any sections that you you are unsure about.  Good tires (2.35″ profile, puncture protection), helmet, knee and elbow protectors, backpack, long gloves, and apparel for a long day spent at altitude in the mountains (insulated layer, rain jacket, hat) are a must. Drop us a line if you’re not sure– we’re happy to help make sure your gear is dialed.
